The transmission is out of a 67 dart w/ slant 6. When I started my restoration project I was planning to rebuild the /6 to be HP so I had the transmission rebuilt for that purpose. It was rebuilt by RPM Racing in Baltimore MD which is not longer around. I met the guy to drop it off and pick it up when it was done and he was older then (probably late 70's now if still around). He said he was putting in HD clutches and other things appropriate for a higher HP engine.

I am now putting in a 400 bb so this transmission will not work for me but I hope it will work for somebody. Included is a Mopar Performance remanufactured torque converter and I believe it is a 2200-2600 stall. I paid about $800 for the rebuild plus at least $250 for the converter over 10 years ago. Pick up would be great but I am willing to build a crate for shipment. I just check UPS from my address in NJ to a random residential address near Chicago and ground for that was $164 so shipping to you is definitely an option.

I am asking $500 for the trans and torque converter but that is negotiable. Further to that I would be willing to trade for parts. I am looking to convert the car to a manual transmission so parts related to that would be of interest. I am also going to be adding unibody reinforcement so those parts would be of interest. If you have parts that you think might be of interest let me know. Thanks.

No. I had emails back and forth with the guy that did the work but my email service does not keep emails past a certain time period. I do not have any actual paperwork anymore. Let me know if you want any more pictures.

I took the pan off and removed the filter to take a picture. I do not know much about the inside of a 904 transmission but hopefully these pictures will help.

Looks like any 904 I've seen from that view.... .the question would be about the converter.
If it was built for a 67 /6 it has the small converter snout. 68 til the end of the /6, had a larger one.

Looking at the pix again it would have to be 68+, actually 78+ as the pic of the input shaft appears to be stepped down as the lockup converter models were .. any more info here?

The /6 the car came with threw a rod when it was my daily driver and I had a local mechanic source a replacement. Maybe the motor was a much later 1978+?. The mechanic never said he needed to also swap the torque converter and / or transmission.

I gave the trans and torque converter I had to the guy who rebuilt it and so if these are not correct for a 67 /6 car should I relist it for 1978+ ? Thanks for any advice. I am not looking to misrepresent what this is.

Wrong place. Too high up.
Not the right numbers. These are STAMPED right along the edge along the tip edge of the pan in same side of trans. Way below the linkage hookups would start with "PK.........."

Ok someone here should be able to look those and ID that trans for the original year it is.

If the converter is a lockup of the similar vintage, the converter/trans should fit 68 through at least 79. It may fit later years too.; just not sure.

Thanks oldkimmer, volaredon and 65 Dartman. I appreciate the help. I think I should end / delete this post and relist this.

I have not found a way to do that other than say its sold. Is there a way to do that?

No don't delete.
It'll fit any /6 from 68 and up all the way til 87.
It's good now that we all (including you) know what exactly it is. Can only help you sell.
