I have a '65 Dart that was a 6 and I put in a 360. It took custom mounts for the motor and tranny. That was OK since its a bracket car. I p/u a another '65 w/a 6. I want to put a 273 in it and run it as a Stock Eliminator car. Do I need a V8 K member. I thought, although not sure, that the K member is the same for both. I also will need some solid motor mounts. Any good answers? Thanks

I just got the schumacher kit (mounts and brackets)these brackets look like they could be made quite easy,so maybe you could make some solid mounts for your 273??

The swap is as simple as using the right motor mounts and center link. If you are looking for a correct 1965 numbers matching 273, PM me. Just pulled my freshened setup in favor of a 360. I have a test stand to run the engine.

Mick I don't think the 75 center link will fit the 65. Too wide.

The 65 K-Members are the same for the /6 and the V8. A set of stock 273 mounts will do the trick to mount the engine. Some of the 65 and 66 models, even with the /6, came with the dropped center link. Have a look here, second page, and you can verify which link you have now. You'll also need the driver's side 273 exhaust manifold in order to run the V8.
