63 and 65 door difference

If I have a 65 Valiant front door to put on a 63 Valiant, I know that the door will physically fit, but there is something different about the striker plate on the post. Can I change out the striker plate from a 63 to a 65 Striker plate to make the 65 door operate properly? Who knows this for sure?

Your answer is nope.
Unless you graft in a 65 striker plate mount.
I have those as well as good door skins if you want to fix what you already have.

Thanks WPN. Good pictures. I am not dure what I want to do at this point. Perhaps I will find another door.

No, the latch incompatibility is total. The door metal's different and so's the door jamb area. '64-'66, no problem, but '63 is the odd duck out.
