Hi everyone! I am new to the board. I recently picked up a 63' Dart 2 door. Its a real nice car, but not perfect. The guy I got it from threw in a 413 and 727 witht he deal. My question is, how do-able is the 413 swap in the early a's? I did see Schumacher sells a motor mount kit. Anyone have any ideas?

I remember the thread 65Vart,the guy had to use a speacial 440 oilpan if I recall.Fenderwell hedders would be a must.Good luck.

Big blocks in early A's are not fun to do especially RB engines. Most early A owners that want big cubes just build a 408 stroker motor. Same physical size as a 273.

Possible, yes. Would you want to do it, maybe if you knew exactly what you were doing and the car will never see a twisty road. Big blocks are pretty heavy in all iorn. Also, fender-well hedders are a problem because Im pretty sure no one makes any in the big block flavor for us early-a guys, which means a custom deal $$$.

I put a 440 in my 63 Valiant. I made a front motor plate, used Hooker fenderwell headers that had to be modified on the pass. side. I cut the k member and boxed it in around the oil pan and also plated the front. The engine has been in since 1987 and has'nt had any problems
