Our trunk is way out of wack (evidently due to distortion around the hinges). But anyway, once that gets resolved, how does one go about getting things right?

Trunk bumpers? What do they look like and where do they go?

Is it best to fine tune the spaces around the trunk with or without the latch in place?

Same thing, is it best to align the trunk with or without the large black rubber sealing gasket that goes all the way around?

Do I need to test fit the special die-cast Barracuda trim that goes around the hinges and rear window during this process or will that take care of itself in the end?

Thank you.

Just found the old trunk bumpers and the "repro" bumpers from the '64-'66 A Body kit. What the hell, totally wrong orientation for the locating tab and the slot is a different length. This is really pissing me off. Factory bumper bottom (first photo) and right (third photo).
