Is there any shortcuts I can take instead of finding the correct driveshaft to go into the tailshaft of the 904. For instance maybe does the tailshaft from the original transmission fit the 69 904 tranny. My car had the slant six before the swap.

Its got a 7.25 rear. Is the 318 gona fry it. Should I just save all the hassle and go with a 8.75 rear? This decision could solve my driveshaft issue.

you should dump both the original ball and trunion and the 7 1/4. Swapping to an 8 3/4 and using the slip yoke is really the way to go.

Just use the later tranny as a whole. If you wish to (and your local track allows you to) use the original floor shifter, www.imperialservices.net has an adapter cable.

The 7.25 will do OK on the street for a while. Slicks+burnouts=problems real fast. Run it till it breaks and save up for 4.10's in a 8.75.

Save yourself all the B.S and swap to a 8 3/4 right off the hop! You,ll save yourself alot of grief!I,ve replaced everything on my 66 Dart, disc. brakes,8 3/4,axels,brakes,mtor and tranny, rad, exhaust.Basicly modernized the whole car.It cost me,but this is what I,ve wanted to do to this car!
