Hey, just thought I'd post a link to photos of my work in progress to rid my driver of rust and dents. I did not drive her much this year while i work away at the issues as well as remove, repair and clean paint from most of the chrome. Hope to have her ready for new paint early next year when things warm up again.

here is the link to the photos. One album is to the year she was cleaned up and driven and the other is the album of repair and restore

Nice!!!! How long has this been going on before 09??? very good job

I'm hangin onto 3 years that I have been at it. For the most part I am only able to work on it for about 10 hours a weekend (5 hours Sat/5 hours Sun) except when a long weekend comes along then I can add 5 to 6 more hours that weekend. Considering this is the first time I have attempted such a thing, I really am enjoying the trials and challenges along the way and look forward to the weekends so much I can't stand it.

If all goes well, I hope to drive her to Moparfest next year. She may not be painted but she should be reliable.

Thanks for the comment, take care.

Pettybluedart! I like your car. I had a 65 Dart GT which I dragraced back in the early 80ies. Boy I miss those times.

65_Dart_GT;your car looks great. Youre doing a great job on it. How long have you been working on it?

Pettybluedart, I too like your car. It has morphed with the changes and looks stout!

65dartcharger, I have been working on the car now going onto four years. I am quite anxious to drive her again but it looks like it wont be till next year now. Just finishing up an engine swap and sorting that out, then I got to get the front windshield figured out as far as replacement gasket and perhaps glass.:blob:

Just a heads up.Nigel at National Moparts(Beaverton)has the front windshield gasket for your car.I also got my 66 Dart front windshield from Speedy Auto Glass, they found one in Nova Scotia and had it for me in 2 days.

Well I have not been on-line for a while and thought it worth mentioning that the restoration has progressed. Installed a 66 273 with a mild purple cam just before winter last year, even got here running, there is a video (6 minutes) of me trying to get her to run. I had to finish building the engine by way of a 340 intake but used a 65 carter 4 bbl. I cleaned up a pair of weiland aluminum valve covers and filed of the black from the ribs to give it a bit of pop.

Fast forward to stripping the layers of paint off with aircraft stripper and some grinding. Priming as I go, I think I'm about 70% done and thinking about paint. 3 years plus and I'm nearly there, she won't make it to Moparfest this year as I hoped but once I put in custom exhaust and new glass I should be good to go for next year. (wishful thinking. Here is a link to work I've been doing. There is a short version alblum and one with 243 pics and a video.:blob:
