Hi guys,
The lower driver's side door hinge on my 270 no longer holds the door in open position. Not critical, but a true PITA.... So I've done quite a bit of looking and discovered hinges and kits galore for '66 and up... including the S-springs. But nothing for '65. The differences in hinge and holder are subtle but significant.
On the '65 there's a bushed roller on the S-spring itself that interfaces with a couple detents in the "live" portion of the hinge.
From what I've seen of the '66-and-up there are toothed rollers mounted on the "live" side that roll directly against the leg of the spring.
So my questions;
Anybody know of anyone that's re-popping the early-style hinges (including those S-springs and the bushed roller) or producing kits?
Or;
Does anyone know whether or not the later hinges are direct bolt-in replacements for the '65?
