Been searching for a 64 or 65 Valiant for a long time and finally picked up this 2DR '65 on CL in the Palm Springs area. Southern California car, built in LA and supposedly spent it's entire life there. Original black plates (for what it's worth). Got the car to Miami and gave it a good once over. Very solid, a little superficial rust in the passenger quarter and appears to have original paint. Underside is solid as can be. Has copious amounts of factory undercoating. That on top of an extended life in the desert and it's pretty rust free but not dried out in the window gaskets or door seals. Interior looks very good for it's age.

Slant 6 (225) auto that hasn't been started since 2006 so first task is to see if I can get the existing drive line turning. Long term I want to make it a budget street/strip car. I had a '66 years ago with a nice 340/727, a 65 barracuda at one time and a couple other 60s/70s mopars. That was 20+ years ago so I'm a little rusty on working on these things. That's why I've found FABO so invaluable. I've already learned tons reading these forums.

If there is anybody in my immediate area that can recommend machine shops, fabricators, etc I would love to hear from you. I'll be hanging out in the Slant 6 and Early A category till I get this thing rolling under it's own power. Soon after, I hope to graduate to the "Small Block Tech" and others.

Thanks FABO.
