Good evening everyone,
I have seen some great work done on the A body center consoles and I think my time has come to try to do the same.

I am thinking of trying to sand and prep the lower section of the console to repair the storage area/mounts with fiberglass then paint the whole thing. As for the metal top I'm not sure, brass wire brush what I can and then filler and paint where needed. As for the slider on the cigarette lighter Im not sure how I'll fix it yet.

i appreciate any and all advice from those of you who have done this work before me. And I'm a considering buying used, some others that have been posted for sale as an option too.

Thanks.

Lower unit is repairable, and looks good enough, just repair prep and ready for paint. These mopar interior colors are available in spray cans, they do a good job. I don't know if those tops can be restored. Maybe someone else knows.
I would buy a set of clean tops here from a wanted ad, or there are also reproductions available.
In the end, the tops are a focal point, you're always gonna see the tops, if they look crappy, it brings down the whole interior.
Good luck.

This is what I have to start with - as didn't cost me a dime, however rest of interior will still take another $2500. +. Console will need new top such as woodgrain or - - .
