1st Gen Barracuda owners, how big a tire and wheel can you stick on these Cudas. With Hemi springs I've put 275/50/15's on my 68 and 69 Fastbacks. Can you manage that with a 66?

Thanks!!

With the right suspension you can get a pretty big tire under an early Barracuda...

Without any modifications, I had 235/45-17s in back ( driveway picture) I feel that 245s would have fit. With 215/45-17 upfront - at full clock of the steering wheel the front tire hits the sway bar. Can't go any bigger up front

In the other picture - upgrade to 4 link in back and was able to 255/40-18s. That fills the wheels

How big can I go with a 15 inch tire? I’d try the setups I have on my Cudas and Roadrunner but they are large bolt.

It's pretty easy to get 235/60/15's. Move the springs with the offset shackles/hangers you can get 255's. My old Barracuda in my avatar was mini-tubbed and had 295/50/15. These cars don't really like any tire over 27" tall unless you move the axle back a little.

It does appear on these cars that the wheel doesn’t sit center to the quarter opening which would make it hard to stick a fairly big tire under a stock rear.
