66 Dart Headlight trims

-
Hell no.

Well, maybe, if the rest of the car was still attached to them and came in the deal.

I spent 500 to get a good set for my/DDaddy's 66 dart. buying them and having them restored, without the black paint. just straight and polished.

I bought some nos ones for like $150ea. Saw an nos grill at Carlisle for $1500. Eventually got an nos one with a couple of small scratches for $500.

If you had those what would you sell them for?

The problem with putting them on most cars is that they look too nice and would make the rest of the trim look crappy - well that's what I tell myself.

Did I hear my name? I'd be hard pressed to spend that much for headlight bezels. Maybe if it came with an NOS grille.
May-be I should have said I wish I had a D Dart. Lol

I will make a few comments based on owning 66 Darts for 35 years. Those bezels have been hard to find in 'good' condition for 20 years. I've sold nice ones on ebay for 150 each, and the sales came fast. I still have extremely nice ones for me. I don't think that ebay offer is out of line at all. Trouble is pre-67 Darts have lagged in values for so long, and honestly the early A body crowd tends to be so budget minded, that going to any special effort to save and restore cars or parts becomes a loosing proposition. I have not seen a 66 to part out in 8 years, when 25 years ago ,every wrecking yard had 5.
I plan to sell my Convertible GT this year, and then my stash of mint parts will be available. Somehow I suspect selling the car, will be more a challenge than selling the parts.
