We have all seen a few of these transplants, my question is how difficult is it to mount one and not have it sticking above the qtr too much?

I would think since they are an above surface device it would be pretty tough to do much of anything else with them.

I just noticed the Bcuda have a recess around the cap, thus they do not protrude as one would if simply mounted on a stock Duster. If the entire cap w/
a portion of the recessed qtr were cut out of a Bcuda it should look fairly nice.

That would make a difference alright.

I'd rather have one on top of each fender right behind where the sail panel meets the fender and the tube tied together in the trunk.:D

That would be on a Dart though.

i have barracuda cut sections if anybody needs one
and caps

My brother did this to his Duster two years ago using a piece of the quarter panel from a Barracuda. It worked out well and I think it looks great. If you go on search forums, type in gas cap, and type in my user name there are a couple of pictures that will come up. Sorry I don't know how to do the link thing. Bobby

Pretty good idea over doing it from scratch.
I have a GTX flip-top cap and adapter. Not willing to cut and paste, metal work is not my bag. PM if interested.

That's what I did with my '72. Cap fits and works just fine. The only thing left is to modify the filler tube as the angle is a little different, the screws that hold it all together is different and oddly, it needs to be a little longer now.

I have one. I just haven't gotten that far yet. It is also short, but grafting one onto the other will fix that.
