I always think that like Barracuda 2nd Gen with Barracuda and Barracuda Formula S, Dodge produce Dart and Dart GTS. But I have seen whole a lot different model for 67-69 Dart, ex: (67-69)Dart Post, Dart GT, Dart GTS, Dart 270....

What is the different between GT and GTS? What is Dart Post, Dart 270?

Are these model same basic sheet metal? How could you identify which is GTS? Like 67-69 Barracuda Formula S should have 150 odometer, deluxe interior, heavy duty suspension, emblem call out... what you should look for the GTS?

Those Dodge Dart confusing me!!!!!

The GT was usually a /6, but could also be a 273 in 67, or a 318. The GTS was 340, 383, 440. GT Sport in other words.
A Dart post, has a post between the front and rear side windows, unlike a hard top.
A Dart 270 was just a different trim, I 'believe' a base model, lower than the GT trim? Someone fill in if I'm wrong here.
A Dart Swinger also could come with a 340 I believe.

This is a 68 Dart-270 (mine) Originally a /6, auto, 7-1/4" rearend, 9"Drum brakes, 14x4.5 wheels, bench seat.

This pic is the day I took delivery of it about 6 years ago. (looks a little different now)

Dart GT was the premium Dart in any year made. More trim and standard options. 111" wheel base Hardtop or convertible (all convertibles were on the GT platform

Dart 270 is a step down from the GT but the same body, just different trim. No finish panel on rear but had the 4 pieces of trim (THAT I NEED BY THE WAY) The GT has trim at the top of the body line, 270 trim is down a few inches

Post, 108" wheel base, base model, framed door windows, basicly a sedan
The lightest of all Darts

GTS TOP OF THE LINE was a mid year option starting in 1967.
I believe all 67 GTS were Big Block cars and only had markings on the front fenders.

68 & 69 the 340 & 383 was available and in GTS. Some 69 GTS had 440's "M" code. Had GTS emblems on the inside door panel. Power bulge hood, 68 had 4 ovals 69 had fins with engine call out set in the back

Here's a couple of 68 Dart GT models

Side trim is lower on the body and follows a different line than on the 270

68 Dart 270, has a narrow trunk trim strip as in pic one.

Dart GTS, and I believe GT Had a much bigger trunk finish panel as in the second pic.

GTS models had the Powerbuldge hood. Different inserts for 68 and 69.

Heres a pic of a 68. Some 68 GTS came with the Nose cone in the grill. you wont see to many with that option

I'm mainly trying to show you 68's cause thats what I know best.

so premium in the vin implies GT?
please say yes...

would a GT come with a "GT Sport" tail stripe?

Those are beautiful Dart, thank MileHighDart.

So the Dart 270, GT and GTS share same metal sheet (111" wheel base) but Dart Post (108" wheel base) use different one?

Have Mopar ever put a big block in the Dart Post?

1967 GTS were all 383. 457 total units.229 4speeds, 228 Automatic. Every 67 GTS's had flat hoods to my knowledge.
