68 fb barracuda (original formula s big-block car)

I would love to hear what the body-guys on this web site have to say about something like this. How much $ would it take to make that ex-race car nice if I was paying someone else to do the body work and paint?

68 fb barracuda in CT (he's at it again):

This car is very nice and very tempting. It looks like the one I had when I was 15 (which was red on burgandy 68 fb 318 auto); only much nicer. I've posted this car on this web-site before. It didn't get one bid the last time it was on e-bay (with the same opening bid). I'm not sure why he thinks it will be different this time. He claims the interior will be finished when the car sells. Well, why not finish it now for the pictures?

67 fb barracuda (six cylinder, auto, FL car):

Thoughts?

One more - a 67 notch black on black 4spd in Texas:

I like the 67 /6 but it is missing the rear window trim. You need to decide what the use of the car will be which will determine what powertrain you want. The other 2 are over priced IMO.

67 doesn't have deluxe interior. Seller says it does in description.
Nice car though.

I like the 67 slanty, except for the wheel treatment (I can't tell if those are ugly wheel covers or ugly wheels). Price seems fair, but there'd be a fair amount of money I'd have to spend to be willing to drive it (drivetrain probably, suspension and brakes ABSOLUTELY).

I would only be interested in the red 68 fb in CT and the black hardtop in TX. The other two cars I just found while doing my online searches and figured I'd post them; I'm not interested in either of them. Even though I'm not really looking for a hardtop, the black hardtop in TX looks good/tough, has a stick, and ... it's black on black.

I am looking for:
- a 67-69 barracuda fb with a V8 and the 8 3/4 rear (or dana : )
- minimal to no rust or bondo
- a stick would be nice, but I'm fine with an auto too
- reasonable price (318 fb's seem to be going for around $15k, which I think is too much)

After that, I would want front discs, prefer large bolt pattern, suregrip and 391's, good interior and good glass and a good front suspension. But, these are the things that I can do after I get it. However, if these things are not already done, then the price should reflect that. And I think that has been the problem. The sellers want top dollar for 318 cars that don't have all of that done. And for a few thousand more, I can get a formula S.

Basically, I want a good street car that handles, brakes and has some go. I'm not looking for a race car. I'm not looking for a pro-touring car, either.

I've attached a picture of the 68 fb barracuda I had when I was 15. In some places (on top of the front fenders for example), it had about an inch of bondo! I think back ... it's good I sold it before dumping $$$ into it! Sorry for the small picture, I can't figure out how to upload the larger version.
