Hello,
I've had my car running since july, however it's having issues starting. Once, it flooded just as i pulled into a parking lot, but most of the time I cant get my car started after i have recently had it running.

Starts perfectly when the engine is cool, but after driving i either have to crank the car for about 10 seconds with the throttle down and then it will finally catch.

Other times, nothing happens, i will turn the key and absolutely nothing will happen, I just have to keep turning the key and sometimes the engine will decide to start to turn. (this i think may be an ignition switch problem)

I've checked the carb to see if the floats need to be reset, but they were perfect, the only issue was that there was sediment (probably from old fuel tank) in the carb. So my to do list before the show this weekend is to get a new fuel filter for now and my winter project is to get a new gas tank.

Also, when we pulled the fuel line off of the carb, i have a mechanical fuel pump, there was very high pressure and fuel spewed everywhere.

sorry for such a story, just wanted to give the best picture so i could possibly get the best help,

Thanks in advanced.

2 separate problems , No start is likely the starter relay or neutral safety switch and/or its wiring.
The hot start issue is fuel related. A thick spacer under the carb might cure that.

We've all been spoiled by fuel injection! Hot restarts with an aluminum carb require a little more cranking. Modern E-10 gas makes this worse. Your factory owners manual may have even recommended 1/2 throttle for warm restarts. If it didn't I would certainly suggest doing so.

I've had good luck using these (2 if there's room) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mrg-97/overview/
