hi i want to change my rear end gears to something lower its 340 with 727 tranny 8 3\4 i am thinking 3.91 is that to low?? whats ratio is between 3.23and 3.91

Changing from 3.91 to 3.73 gears probably won't net you much of an RPM gain. You could probably do that effectively by running a taller rear tire. What size / height rear tire are you currently running?

right now not totally sure what it has for gears but they r for sure high gears one guy that checked it out said they might even be 2.73 and the car has 16 inch rims +tires now so looking for something between 3.55 and 3.91 posi for 8 3/4
