First timer on this type of project here. I'm replacing the trunk extension and the lower quarter on this thing. At the passenger rear corner, I'm looking to see if I can get clarification on how this all goes together. It seems as if the trunk extension, quarter panel and rear valance (not sure if that's the correct name for it) panels all come together in the corner there. Basically overlapping each other. I cut the trunk extension out months ago but I can't seem to remember 3 lips all spot welded together at point. I remember it as 2 lips, the rear valance on the outside and then the quarter panel spot welded to the inside of it.

But this AMD trunk extension also has a lip that fits right in there. So starting from the outside, do arrange it with the rear valance on the outside, the quarter panel in the middle and the trunk extension lip on the inside and then somehow plug weld all of them together? Not quite sure how to go about it.

Also where the trunk extension and trunk come together, how do you guys go about attaching this part? Do you drill holes on the lip that goes to the trunk and then plug weld to the trunk extension from that side? It seems like it would be pretty difficult to get the mid welder up in there. I attached a pic from the bottom side. Thanks!

The extension then quarter, then valance. This was my dry fit valance. Working on quarters and extensions now. Hole punch/flanger tool quarter to extension, spots, same with valance.

Where's the rear cross member in your pick ? your also supposed to add the little extensions to the cross member when doing the trunk extensions to tie them into the crossmember .I drilled 3/8 holes in the same pattern as the factory spot welds and we plug welded then ground them flat looks like new , self drilling wafer head screws to tack things together then weld those holes after .
