I have a stock Barracuda Convertible... I bought 14x 7 custom made wheels for the rear ...what size tire can I safely fit in the wells with my stock suspension and drum brakes...

thanks in advance!

Scott

215 fits . 205 is closer to correct and easier to find.

Not to many choices in 14" tires any more. About the biggest you are going to find is a 245/60-14 and these will fit just fine providing the custom rims you got don't have a radical back spacing.

I am running 255/60-15's on 8" wide rims on the back of my 68 Barracuda. I have about 1/2" clearance between the side wall of the tire and the spring and about 1.5 " clearance to the outer wheel well. If the wheel had less back spacing I could fit a larger tire.

Thanks! So I'm ok with 235/60/14 I dont even see a 245/60/14 being made... who makes it?

If you go to TireRack.com and do a search by tire size they will give you an option to see all the sizes they carry by rim size.

BTW, Tire Rack also has about the best prices you will find on tires.

Gee! I just checked and they have 245/60-14 listed for $88 each and they are in stock.
