i have a 67 dart 4dr with a v8....it had a 904 in it i smoked it so i put a 727 in it. and now it won't start by the key. i can turn the key on and it cross the solenoid and it will fire right up. any ideas on what it could be? correct me if im wrong but the nuetral safety switch on a 67 is on the collumn correct? or is it on the trans? the was a 1 wire plug on the 904 and i was assuming it was for the reverse lights. the 727 i put in has i 3 wire plug.....Help me please
thanks

3 prong = ground in , reverse, and ground out for neutral switch. you will need to do simple wiring mods. get wiring diagrams and compare. It will become clear.

Use the center pin on the 3 terminal switch and hook the wire that was hooked to the 904

The 67 backup lights is on the column/ shifter linkage, but the NSS is on the trans

I switched my 67 904 to a newer one recently and just swapped the old 1 wire
switch with the 3 terminal switch mentioned in previous post - can check with an
ohm meter afer swap, should show short when in park and neutral.

or you can just bypass the neutral switch by grounding out the neutral switch wire at
the solinoid(next to battery, not starter) --- if you just want to get it going(temp fix)
