looked at a 68 dart270 today. all original 318 AC and power steering. Body was perfect and the paint was in good shape. auto and 8 1/4 was what the rear looked like. I was told that i was for sale for 2K but I didnt get to talk to the owner if it is and i can get it color it gone.

Wish me luck, i left a note for the owner.
 
thats what i thought. Then i can take that BB and drop it in the duster and make it a straight strip car.

I will poat some pics in the morning but it is the ****!~!!!!! All orginal down to the AC pump and the thumb nob radio that even works. The orginal Jack is still in the right place.

I am having issues weather to put my 340 in it or not . It is so clean that I am afraid to mess with it :roll: :roll:

What should i do :?: ALl orginal :angel11: or my 340 and a fiber glass hood and make it killer :twisted: :twisted: .

the dart will never see a BB leave it so if I want I can put the orginal engine back in. Its to cherry to make clone out of.
Beside I have the duster to put a BB in :D
 
I vote for "leave it". If it's a clean all original car it will make a nice weekend cruiser that you don't have to worry about rippin' the gears out of. Very nice catch. :D
 
If its original and in good condition, I'd say leave it. Now you can go crazy with the Duster and have a nice original driver to show :thumrigh: Plus its got A/C :D
 
still thinking about a engine swap, There are just not enough chevy killers out there and I want one :D :D I just want to do it ion a fashion that I can return it to its orginal stae if I wanted . Throw out some suggestions.
 
SLEEPER :cheers: get some ralleys for it nice rear end trans some some mufflers with like no sound to them,and some 4.10's HAHA :twisted: Thatll be funi was gonna go that way too but all my buddies cars started to look cooler then mine so i had to change her look :thumrigh:
 
Ya dont get rid of the old junk its hard to find some times,i went thought hell and back trien to get some small parts for my car! :evil:
 
yep thats the plan, I will call John to start rounding up parts. what are the brackets you are talking about for the 340??
 
just getting rady for the transplant. Finaly got the duster Tranny straight today and roled the 340 for about 40 miles purrs like a kitten. had the rev limiter set at 5500 took it a roll in fisrt tacked it and nailed it she launched hard hit the limit poped second and she pulled hard all the way through. She will make good power up to at least 6500.
Got stopped by a cop he just wanted to look Chebby guy but he was cool. He clocked me at 52 running 2500 so thats cool. She staye at about 170 for the whole trip and the cop sayed it sounded bad as hell. I think This engine is going to do justice to the dart :eek: :eek: :eek: :D :D :D
 
I'll get a set of the engine brackets cleaned up this weekend and send them out to you on Monday :wink: I think the only problem you'll have with the swap traction :D I think I might have to come up and help you "evaluate" that problem :thumrigh: :D
 
come on. The duster hooks pretty good but still only launched at 3000 3500. Ihit the rev limiter and she is still lighting them up. It will be good to go. ithink the 340 will be a nice runner in the dart.
