No, most red one's came on white, black, and green cars but I have seen them with black one's too. Never seen a TSB on it and no real rhyme or reason...

I'm just a guy.
My LL1 paint (medium dark turquoise metallic) GTS came with black letters when new. Car was restored with red and I changed them out.

Taken in 1975 ish by the original owner
Taken 1987 by my mother, brothers wedding day.
Taken 2022 by me with the son of the original owner seeing the car for the first time since 1980.
After restoration
Correct letters.
