1968 Plymouth Barracuda · Formula S

There is too much to be said about this car. More than meets the eye. It is a numbers matching motor and transmission, fender tag and title. 1968, 340 formula S automatic with air conditioning. The body is extremely solid and original. Only rust repair that I can see would be on the passenger floor pan and it is very minimal. Also, from sitting many years, it developed some rust at the lower front passenger fender, but can be repaired fairly easily. The paint looks nice, but does show some ware from sitting. The Engine has been rebuilt as well as the transmission. It was in process of being restored and unfortunately previous owner passed away before completion. I was hoping to bring it to the finish line myself, but it’s just not in the cards right now, so I figure I will let somebody else enjoy it. I have fresh recovered front bucket seats, new legendary rear seat covers still in the box. Many good parts included to help finish restoration. Car located in Bolton Connecticut. $20,050 Firm

Interested.

Where are you?

Fender tag?

Is that a dent next to the rust or a reflection?

It is a reflection, and yes, I do have the fender tag as stated in the ad description.

Any other rust?, i just got screwed on another purchase guy said no rust lost 12k on it
Just the small spot on passenger floor. This car is a unicorn. Very solid. I wish I wasn’t selling it. You don’t find them this nice these days

The quarter panels looked like they have been replaced - correct ?

Nope

I will have to double check but I think either the driver side or passenger side had a patch done on the lower rear quarter panel but it’s below the trunk extension and cannot be seen from inside the trunk. Pretty sure if I stuck my hand way in there I could feel where they joined the two other than that this car is super original sheet metal. Very solid. Trust me, I’d rather not be getting rid of it. It’s a very good piece and hard to find in this condition these days. It does have its issues but I am 100% positive. It is priced according to condition. Super clean original sheet metal numbers matching 68, 340 formula S with some cool options.

I have the majority of the under hood AC parts. I’ve been slowly installing things as I go. I believe I have all of the lines and the compressor. Would just have to double check on the brackets. Yes, this car is super nice. Definitely will regret having to let it go. Looking at the photo of the trunk extension. I tend to agree now. And I think that might be the same side that the quarter panel was repaired. So possibly the extension was replaced. But the quarter panel is definitely mostly original. Definitely the original quarter panel on the other side. I have had this car only a year and I really haven’t had much time around it only enough to realize that it is a super nice piece.

If anybody is serious about the car, please reach out and I will share my phone number. It would be much easier to speak over the phone about the car rather than bit by bit. This is a great car that definitely does have some issues but you still would be hard-pressed to find a car as clean and solid as this one. Along with the fact that it is Number’s matching motor and transmission. Also have the fender tag and title

yep....looking at the underside pictures...........
If you’re not interested, move on please. Like I said, quarter panels are original. Driver side had a patch below the trunk extension and I’m gonna look closer tomorrow where the trunk extension may have been replaced but other than that it is all original sheet metal. Passenger side quarter panel and extension are original to the car. 90% of the driver side quarter panel is original. Again this is a great car. If you are not interested, thank you for your time and kindly move on.

UPDATE:
I looked at the car close today. Both of the quarter panels are mostly original. Drivers and passenger side were repaired down below the top of the trunk extension/trunk line. Passenger side trunk extension still appears to be original in my opinion. Driver side extension was worked on but from the top it looks pretty fantastic so I don’t know what they did. They might’ve done an overlap, but it does not look that way from the top. Also, the quarter panel was fixed below the trunk line. Pictures included.
