1968 Plymouth Barracuda | eBay what is you guys take on this car?
No dual exhaust cut out on rear valance. May not be a real Formula S. Would need to see vin to see if it is a real 340 S car. Looks nice, but could be a bondo bucket.... Never bid on a car (or anything) with a seller with zero feedback.....
I hear ya but sounds pretty interesting, guy got it from his friend that passed away yeah getting pic of tag and vin# honestly the fact that its a 340 4 speed is my main concern. What about the color? never seen
"Strong running 340 modified to a 360"
Anything can happen after 50 years. Likely been restored. If it is a nice driver, probably not a bad price. When I bought mine long distance, I spent the $200 on a plane ticket and went and saw it in person.
I dont know that interior looks orig , the carpet , all the green everywhere. Looks like a nice steering wheel under that wrap crap too. might have been that dark green
I like all the green. The 340 modified to a 360 with a small cam concerns me.
With the bondo cracks showing, it has at least been repainted. Are the front and back seats different colors, or is that just lighting?
I think he is just relaying what his mechanic told him, because he could not answer me certain questions without asking his mechanic. I dont think he is a car guy.
The "bondo crack" is a blown up pic. look at the size of the lock compared to the crack. If it is even Bondo could just be paint crack.
The front and back seat do look like different greens. I’d buy that car for 12k but I really like notchbacks. It would have to have an 8.75 and disc brakes on front also.
Looks like the car is wet, maybe to give the paint some shine? Why do that? Like any other 50 year old car, would need a full inspection to verify it’s worth, but like any other 50 year old car I would expect there to be some issues. 12K as mentioned above would be fair assuming no major rot requiring panel or rail replacement.
Not a 340 car. Vin states F8B.
Good eye! I didn’t look for the vin in the eBay listing. Definitely an original 318 car
The side story of him getting the car from a friend who passed away is likely to throw some potential buyers off guard to not ask many questions. Don’t fall for it. The seller is likely trying to unload a car as easily as possible without providing much info. If it was a $2k car that’s ok since it’s not much of a risk but $12k?
tag the 41 on the last line is 318 also? I never assumed it was a 340 formula "s" i'm just looking for a 4 speed notchback car. just looking to maybe replicate my 68 340 4 speed i had back in the day.a2
Looks like an original automatic car with the 5 code.
Could be a good car, but I doubt there is much original about it.
Looks like it was originally Medium Avocado green TT1
Rust "bubbles" in the second-to-last pic. And I bet there's rust in the bottom corners of the rear window trim area too. Did you notice different sets of wheels in the pics? First pic looks like Centerline Autodrags while all other pics show factory Rallye wheels. It looks like there is a brake drum behind the Rallye wheel in the pic of the new Goodrich T/A tire.
yeah the door panels match the rear seat the fronts were probably changed
yeah saw that 2 diff sets of wheels im confused!
Man you guys on here are good! I’ll bet if if you put your mines to it you all could solve and find Jimmy Hoffa’s murder/body!
I still like it its a 68, 4 speed, notch look at this side shot love it! all it needs is some high back buckets and paint it 68-72 Lincoln contenetial like my old car. even the lower side trim is there!
If you must have a ‘68 4spd notch right now, then make it so and buy it! However, strip his asking price down a few thousand since it is not a Formula S car. He’s probably padded it at least $4k cause he thinks it’s a real Formula S.
