So far i have a white 68 Valiant 4 door. Seats need to be recovered and needs a headliner. For the headliner im going to go for the snow tiger print fake fur along with the seats to be done with a blue ostrich skin on the bottom and top then in between snow tiger print fake fur. Probably blue carpeting closely matched to the blue ostrich color and the door panels are solid but i'll probably get those customed to the blue ostrich and snow tiger print as well.

The front fenders have some dent damage and the rear bumper needs to be replaced. I also need to find some grilles for the left and right side. If anyone has recommendations on a custom interior shop that does custom subwoofer boxes also let me know. Thank you!

heres a pic of the car and idea for a seat pattern.

A couple more days and I'll be driving it down the road to start some work on it. I found a mechanic through one of my friend's. Her brother in-law is a mechanic and loves to work on old cars. I'll be able to take care or find out what the knock means when you take your foot off the accelerator, the noise comes back by where the drive shaft meets the differential. I think it might be the ujoints just to start with. Prayin its not the differential, i've had to replace that 3 times on my old 2000 Chevy S10 xtended cab.

Got my car today! Totally stoked rides well needs to check the fuses to see why my interior lights are not working. Possible blown light bulbs also. The oil light turns on everyonce in a while also. Going to check the oil level and all fluid levels. Also going to take it in for a free checkup at a mechanic shop for the ujoints or why its making noises in that area. hopefully its not the differential. Anyone have any ideas let me know please.

Hurricane Ike created a lake in my backyard, I drove thru a 1-2ft of a puddle coming home at 2am, brakes were all wet overshot the driveway and the reverse was not working at the time, decided to drive thru the backyard and got stuck by the garden and birdhouse, lol! Looks like my boat is floating.

Ok I was wondering how the execution was going to be on this but I see you have pulled off the "kiche" look, or like rock-a-billy if you will. Anyhow I get it! Hmm kinda cool in its own way. Like you say to each his own. I am positive I have done stuff to my car that people cringe at, but hey they dont drive it! Later man, keep posting the pics!

haha we have the same car but yours is in a hell of a lot better shape.:thebirdm:

lol.

i was going to piont you in the right headliner site but im to late .

i stll have sooo sooo much body work to do . but im doint the roof and door panals in metal flake candy red with green flake . the rest of the body flat black and red rims . flame thrower tailpipes and tenting the windows . i like the creepy look on old cars.lol. 8)

Found out something interesting on the HubGarage.com. http://www.hubgarage.com/mygarage/Valiant100SM/vehicles/8036/photos/246744

In regards to finding rims to fit. LOL! I know that some people may not be interested in putting on the Found on road dead rims, lol!!

Now would that mean you could put any Ford rims on there as long as you have them set the way the guy explains on his site??

‘73+ spindles and discs up front, 65-67 B-body rear axle (wider than A-body, but narrower than other B’s).

Those are actually Mustang Cobra wheels from the 95-96 model year. To fit, the hub bores need to be opened up to fit the larger Mopar hub, but that’s easy machine shop (or sanding roll…) work. If you go the machine shop route, get them opened up to 73mm, a common hub ring DIA and get the proper hub ring to be perfect. Then you can sell them to anybody at a later date, not just another Mopar guy. FWIW, there’s a set on Epay right now for about $150.

That said, you can run just about any of the 95-05 Mustang wheels with the same hub bore surgery, or similar aftermarket wheels that use hub rings. The magic number for the 73+ front end is 5.7” of backspace. More than that will interfere with the outer tie rod ends. Without the wider rear axle, you’ll need about a 1” spacer on the rear. Fit is great with a 245/45, and tight with a 275/40-17.

Patched the holes in the drivers side floor, replaced the front left turn signal bulb and license plate bulb. Had the front end realigned for $50 at Valley Auto Body and Frame in Algonquin, IL. They told me that the wheel bearings needed to be repacked, which my dad and I did this weekend after I had the front tires replaced that were cracked or dry rotted. Less play in the steering and doesn't pull to the right when i brake slow or hard.

Going to pay off some CC's and look into getting my front fenders, bumpers and some rims that will fit it. If anyone has any pointers in rims that will fit this stock setup show me the way!

So far it looks like i might have to brave a couple months of winter with no heat and save for the winter beater. Im sure i'll find it soon.

I'll have to check that Summit out then and see whats on there. Im also looking locally here in northern IL around my area. Just pricing out and for a repaint job. Thinking of the purple that the charger is using this year and maybe some sort of custom paint but nothing too major on it, some kind of striping I saw on a surfboard out in CA. Just can't remember the make of it, saw it at Ron Jons Surf shop at the Block in Orange CA, it was white with a green flake three stripes, all connected at the point of the nose and then connected at the end of the tail, if i remember correctly, lol! Dont' think it was an Al Merrick or a Hobie!

I know 5 x 4.5 but what about backspace? I'm looking into getting a 16" to 18" for it and something wider than the stock ones that i have now.
