Who makes a forged piston in a stock '69 340 configuration? 4.040" bore, 10.5 or higher compression with the stock design heads, 2 valve reliefs, 1.840" pin height? I can't find any in any catalogs. Thanks!

I have a set of TRW 2316s in STD (older 340 replacement pistons) if interested. 4.040 bore. Also have a set of STD 69 340 pistons. Came out of a 30K motor and the car was wrecked. Couple bosses got ripped off of the block so i kept the crank, rods, timing cover, heads, and valve covers.

i.m using mahle like these ,light compared to stock , but the price he has is insane [ame="http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAHLE-PISTONS-SBM804040F05-CHRYSLER-MOPAR-SBM-FLAT-340ci-4-040b-3-313s-6-123r-/290912447342?pt=Race_Car_Parts&hash=item43bbbbab6e&vxp=mtr"]Mahle Pistons SBM804040F05 Chrysler Mopar SBM Flat 340CI 4 040B 3 313s 6 123R | eBay[/ame]

I have never in my LIFE seen a small block Mopar head cc as large as 75 ccs. All the ones I've seen are down around 70 give or take and I've measured a boatload of them. At 68ccs with the thin head gasket with the L2316 you get 10.2:1 just like it came from the factory.

+1 I'm running them with stock heads and got plenty of compression , over 10.2 , have to use 94 octane gas or it pings like crazy .

What do you guys think of the SRP pistons? They make a .030 and a .040

Any piston manufacturer will make a you piston for 340 4.04 bore with the compression height you want....
Correct. I was just asking in general for an off the shelf piece. I have these in my 70 340 and was curious of opinion on these.

you will have at least 10.1 plus compressin with the mahle , i,m putting the ede heads on this week . i better make mre hp and tq than they guesstemate on the rpm head site , am makin more now with the factory heads
