69 barracuda fiberglass hood

does anyone know where i can get a cowl induction fiberglass hood for my car that i can use the stock hood latch with? I know that most need pins in the front but i would like to find a hood with the option of using the stock latch. pls let me know
 
I've never seen a glass hood with a latch. The latch mechanism would be too easily ripped out of the fiberglass. There's a lot of pressure at the front of a hood. Go in a car with a glass hood and get up around 90-100 mph and see how much they move around. Don't think you're gonna find one, unless you can fine a heavy duty one. Some glass companies offer heavy duty stuff, but then you're negated the weight savings of the glass.

Welcome to the board cudablue. As dusterdon advised, a stock latch on a fibreglass hood would not be a very good idea, for safety reasons. If you've ever had a hood, whether steel or glass, fly up and cover your windshield, you would definitely pin that sucker down as securely as possible. Been there, done that - no fun at all!! :)
 
My light weight 68 hood is a bolt on type with the latch and safety latch blind nuts and hinge nuts installed. I haven't driven it yet , though. I am not sure who made it. I will try to figure it out.
 
i kinda figured that i wouldnt be bale to find a hood like that....it just sucks i didnt want to have to use pins but i guess ill be forced to thanks for all the help guys...if u find out any more info pls let me know....because im still in the money saving process...lol
 
U.S.Body Source, AAR fiberglass, WS (mentioned) many have bolt on that
use latches. They are heavier though than the pin on.
Whether they NEED pins too? Don't know, planning stage.
