I hope this is the right spot to start....I have a 69 Dodge Dart. It is my second A-Body, the 67 Dart was my first. This time around I dont want to build stock and would like a nice street-rod. I am going to make it super clean with hopefully a decent kick in the pants when the pedal is slammed. I want to keep the original 225 and torqueflight in it and build that up to be more reliable, and add power. Not to be misunderstood, I want power....but a street car is what im after. I need help as to what I should do and all of my friends are chevy guys who are into the trucks, so they can shove their opinions. The goal is not 100% year-accurate. I want to do 4 wheel power discs, elec ignition and whatever other goodies are recommended. So all that is started is the car is fully torn down, the entire car put on a rotisserie and media blasted. no glass, guts or drive. I epoxy primered the whole thing, including under. I have undercoated with fat mat liquid armor. I also installed the fatmat thermoacoustic liner inside the whole car. This is where I stand. Entirely clean and ready for build, no paint as of yet. I would like to know best engine build specs (bore, compression, cam selection, head mods...) as well as electronic upgrades that you may have used and liked. Price is a factor and I am trying to keep my whole build from here on out around 8k including upholstry, but that can change! It would be awesome if anyone has ideas for suspension and tires too, I like the drag large rear/smaller front tire look. Thanks in advance and look forward to posting some pictures soon.

p.s. I will be doing all possible labor myself. Excluding head flowing and cylinder boring.

If you want a "kick in the pants when the pedal is slammed" you may want to consider a V8 transplant instead of keeping the original 225. JMO.

I agree...A v8 would be an easier swap but I would like to keep the slant six and build it up just as a personal preference. I like the look of it with the performance intake and headers. Im not looking for 250 horsepower...which Im reading is possible with the 6...just up the 110 or whatever it has to like 170ish or more if I can run 91 pump and not have a ticking timebomb.
