I am looking for a rear axle with highway gears from 2.4 to 2.76. I prefer a 7 1/4 axle, but would accept an 8 1/4 if I could get the really high gears with it. Prefer someone within 500 miles of Los Angeles, CA because I don't think shipping is going to be worth it. And I don't want to pay a lot for it. Thanks.

shipping wouldn't be over 75. tops I can send a 3.91 center any wheres in lower 48 for under 86.00 I do have a 7 1/4 rear end out back but do not know what gears are in there
it was in a 65 barracuda with a 6 cyl , and a manual 3 speed if that helps you find out what gears came oem in them . rainin here should be snow so I'm not going to pop open to look until you know what set you want

You can always just measure them without opening anything. Fix one wheel on the ground and don't let it move. Turn the other wheel 20 times and count the number of turns on the pinion. The ratio is #pinion/10. There is an extra factor of 2 because you are holding one end stationary. This only works for open rears. On a sure grip, both wheels would turn the same amount and the ratio would be #pinion/20.

But I need the entire rear end, not just the carrier or just the gears.
