We have a parts duster (74 i think /6 3 on the tree no a/c or pwr anything) I was under it pulling the fuel tank pickup so I can replace the small fuel line with 1/2in for my duster I'm putting together and just swap it out when I'm ready. Anyways I was under there and looked at the leaf springs and there's 7 leaves on each side? Is this a towing option on a a-body or do you think someone put them on it? Im gonna swipe them for my duster if they arent shot. Anybody ever see a set?and are they worth using?
Thanks,
Marvin

I've been under 1000's of A-bodies including big block cars and police cars and have only seen a max of 6 leaves in a stock set of springs. I've seen more leaves on custom jobs and race cars so I'd bet that's what you have.
Thanks, Mark

my new 74 duster has 3 leafs plus the little bottom leaf. ive never seen that few, ive also never seen 7. is that short thick bottom leaf counted?

My '66 Dart is an old drag car that raced in 1966. It was built to D/Dart spec, and it has two 7 leaf springs. Both are A990 Superstock Right springs.

Ill post some pics of them next time I'm under it. I dunno what I'm gonna do for rear shackles, the shackles under the car are pointing straight down when the car is on the ground, I have a cpl ideas on how I want to go about it we'll see what I do when I get that far along with the project. Thanks for the info. All the leaves are really close in thickness.

Heres a cpl pics, sorry bout the quality. Went 1.7 60ft with them on the duster with stock napa shocks and no snubber:

All of these taken from the drivers side side they seem to work pretty good, launches pretty good not wrapping them up. Im gonna put some better clamps on the front of them and see how it works.
