7 qt pan that actually "bolts in" a BB A body?

I have a customer who needs an oil pan for a BB A body drag race car. The car is a 1975 Dart so it should have all late model suspension and steering on it. I'm not sure which K frame that he has, I need to find out. The car isn't super fast, maybe 10 or 11 second car. He is making around 650 hp. I think a 7 qt pan would be fine if there is one that actually bolts in and fits.

Last time I built a late model A body with a BB I found that very few oil pans fit. I ended up using a reproduction OEM pan. It worked, but I would've liked to have more capacity.

I actually just bought the milodon one on the left for my 383 Demon project. I've used a moroso 7qt deep sump on a 440 Duster too. No issues.
I'm using a small block 68-72 style k member with Schumacher mounts. This will be my 5th bb a body I'm building.

Do you know if the car sits very low or does it have a decent ride height?
I had a low deck big block in my 75 Dart Sport using the Moroso 8 quart oil pan I originally bought in the late 90s. Looking at current pictures on Summit Racing they appear to have changed it to a very square shape, so I do not know if it would still fit the same.
Mancini Racing currently has oil pans under their brand name that appear to be the same shape. I don't use a very low ride height because it is mostly a street car. And it never bottomed out on anything anywhere I went on crappy Michigan roads.

I don't know if the flared sump on 7 qt. Milodon big block pans will cause the same problems, but on their 7 qt small block pans a little "V" has to be cut out of the K-frame lip to help the right-front corner of the pan to clear during R&R. Also, most small block headers won't work on the passenger side, again, because of the flared sump. TTI & Dougs clear. I think there was one other particular Hooker or Hedman, but I don't recall the brand or #.

Gotta watch speed bumps, edge of pavement drop offs & wheelstands. The extra weight of a big block will be less forgiving.
I believe OEM style Hemi pans are 6qt but not sure about the fit and Steffs has a 6 qt, but it's very expensive.

Not just R&R. The Milodon small block pan you refer to won't even go in without hard contact. That V is to make it fit. I had to do that on the current setup with my 360 in the same 75 Dart Sport.

I did a BB Duster project several years ago with the Mancini pan and it required mods to the pan before it would fit. A notch had to be cut for the idler arm clearance. I tried the Milodon road race pan in my '72 Duster and it wouldn't fit. It hit several spots including the K frame and the steering linkage.

I think the idler arm and pitman arm are different from 73-76. One hangs down and the stud points up and the other is higher and the stud points down, going by memory. I should clarify, mine was a 75 model year Dart Sport, slant six k-frame, and it was using the Schumacher slant six to big block conversion engine mounts.

Sorry for leaving that out of the original reply.

I ran a 7 quart Milodon pan on my 440 Duster, I don't recall it having any clearance issues, but with how deep the sump was, I sure had ground clearance issues and the pan got beat up. I switched to a Hemi pan, which required switching to the later style steering, and I ran into issues with the idler arm and center link hitting it.

milodon road race pan, 400 in a 68 cuda with 73+ K, 68 linkage, manual box, schumacher mounts, tti headers. K is modded per their instructions.

it fits but everything is *tight* down there.

My 68 has 73-up steering gear so this should be apples to apples. The 511has a 440 Source 66-69 hemi pan which is 6 qt + 1 qt filter. It hangs 3/4" ish below the factory k. I planned on modifying a b body hemi skid plate. That plan didn't materialize due to the QA1 k swap and belly pan requirements. If you'd like I can get some pictures. The 73-up steering linkage game some clearance instead of the very very little I had with the 68 steering parts.

I’ve used the aluminum deep pan from 440 source. 74 duster with dc k frame. These are the only pics I have. There was a windage tray and a 1/2 inch thick BCR girdle sandwiched in between the pan and block. Kim

Andy, I have a ‘75 K. The standard Milodon deep pan fit but hung down below the K.

The road race pan you have pictured on the left required me to cut the corners on the K-frame spool mounts.

Here you can see how low the standard deep pan was hanging down. Which became a huge problem when I hit a monster pothole in a rainstorm. It almost ripped the drain plug out. I lost several quarts in a minute. Realized what had happened before I lost oil pressure!

With pan installed showing clearance on driver's side after modification:

Biggest plus is that the pan is above the K now.
