The 340 and the 3 speed were removed in the 80s.
The gentleman I bought it from had owned it a long time
and I do not think he ever had the original driveline.

He is a member of these forums and has a number of cars. He
contacted me on this site when I had the ad going and live just a
couple of blocks away from the house where I was raised on the
Whittier/LA Habra city line. I walked right by his place going to school.
and was very generous enough to offer me two of his Dusters.
I had an ad on this site several years ago looking for a birthday
present for my son Jon who wanted a street Duster to go with all
his race Dusters and Demon.

The other Duster was turnkey and shows about 18,000 miles and is
an very original car (340 4 Speed). My boy went thru everything and drives
it most every week with his 6 and 9 year old boys who love it.

The Gentleman who I bought it from may chime in on this site to tell you more.
It was a package deal as I had to buy the Red car to go with the complete car.
Otherwise, there would not have been a sale. I actually had no real interest in
the red car but bought it to make the deal work for both of us.

Cuda Mike bought it from me a couple years ago with a
340 and a 4 Speed. However, they were not the number
matching running gear for the car. I believe the 3.23 Sure
Grip Rear is the original for the car.

Back when the car was new in the road tests of that period. the
3 sp. had a quicker 1/4 mile time that the 4 sp. or automatic and that
help the popularity of that combo to sell a number of 3 speed cars.

In the test of the 3 sp. car, Ronnie Sox was the driver of the 3 Sp. car,
as I recognized him in the pictures in the road test. Sox and Martin prepared
many of the cars for the press. That made them about as stock as the Demon
340 that my son and I drive in stock today! Every manufacturer did the same
thing back then. The 64 GTO that the magazines all tested back them was a
preproduction mule with a 421 rather 389 Tri Power. It ran 13.1 and all the guys
that bought the real cars we lucky to run in mid 14s

Wow it awesome I didnt catch what you have told me on the phone from last so now aw that clear up better so I understand now.
, right now I just cleaning it up and do the best as I can "as it is for now" but found mostly interior parts, trims, nuts/bolts and what not so you mention you have radiator for this car I am ready for that and plan going to fall fling to find small stuff for this car.
