in 70 did the 340 abody valve covers differ from the run of the mill small block ones? if so how? anyone have a good pic?

anyone repopping them? i see ones for a t/a but not sure if they are the same for a abody 340..

thanks in advance..

I think the 70, 71's for sure have the heat shield on the pass side. The drivers side differs from 273/318, 340's have a taller wire seperator standoff due to the taller throttle bracket kickdown/linkage from the taller intake. As far as 6 pack that has been debated for a long time with no clear answer. The only difference seen on SOME original 6 pack engines is the driver side standoff is closer by a little 1/2" maybe to the intake side.

I have this picture saved & marked as 1970 340 Valve Covers
