Is this inner seat track driver side or passenger side? I think it passenger side.

Driver side - when the seat is adjusted back the big spring helps bring the seat forward when adjusting. Correct?

What’s messing me up is the taper from the outer to the inner are the opposite I believe?

Thanks for the help

Passenger outer. I guess I never realize this. Always thought the taper would be the same inner and outer, not so

I believe the brackets are higher at the front. The passenger side outer moves forward when the release is pressed and the driver's seat moves back.

Yes on the outer track it is. Not on thee inner, it is higher in the rear as you can see above. I believe both seats pull forward when adjuster is released.

Hey Dave

Observations made on my '71 Demon tracks..............

Driver side......Handle moves rearward to release track. Pushing the seat back stretches the spring.
Thin part of the taper is rearward on both inner and outer tracks

Pass side......Handle moves forward to release track. Pushing the seat back stretches the spring.

So the inner track above is a drivers inner?

The inside track you have a pic of looks to be the drivers inner. It’s higher at the front. At least that is how I assembled mine recently. They are still sitting in the basement.

Look at these pics for reference

I don’t believe this is correct. With the driver seat or passenger seat is all they way back with the spring stretch out. When you release the handle the seat will move forward. The inner track has the opposite taper than the outer.

I have a few duster with buckets seats but all inner are installed both ways. One way has to be wrong. None of them are untouched so I cannot compare and say whats correct. I have a bunch of passenger side seat tracks. All are the same as above pictures. Hard to say I have 5 passenger side outers and 5 driver side inners. Does anyone have a car that was never touched?

The outers are nailed down but still in question is the inners

My tabs are on the rear for both inner and outer tracks.....Corresponds to the taper (narrow to the rear).

IMO......Looks like the added tab on the inner track is to match the spring anchor on the outside track?

Do you have the factory release wires and passenger side strap? If you mix the inner tracks up I doubt they will work. They will be the wrong length and perhaps wrong geometry.

Let inner and right inner.
Just weird how I have old ball tracks.
Thanks
