I made a mistake when I bought a set of American Racing Wheels for my 1970 Duster. I bought 7" wide rims on the front instead of 6" rims, and what keeps happening is that the steering linkage keeps rubbing on the inside of the wheels. I put washers over the bolts and that gave it enough separation, but after having the car aligned, which included a camber adjustment, the linkage rubs again, and is pushing the car out of alignment again. Will I have to get a new set of wheels (which are hard to find in that bolt pattern) or is there some kind of wheel spacer kit that can get the wheels a little bit further out?

Thanks for your help!

Agree with above....just get some hub-centric spacers. 7" is not too wide it's your backspacing that's wrong. 5x4.5 is a common bolt pattern.

I run 15x7 with a 4.25" backspace on the front with a 215/60/15 tire and no issues at all.
