Just purchased a new dash bezel for my Swinger and I need the lighter assembly that goes to the right of the radio with the lighter that has the same knob to match the headlight and wiper switches

I have the parts that you want, but need some clarification (and your in box is full).
I have what you are looking for, but just to be sure that I have this straight: you need the lighter assembly - both the lighter itself and the socket that it plugs into, you need the ashtray - as in the part that comes out to clean/dump that is partially painted the color of the dash frame, and do you need the plated part that the ashtray clips into and the lighter socket mounts in?

Sorry about that, I have cleared a few conversations, should be good to go now. And yes, you are correct on all parts about the bezel. Regarding the ashtray, I need the plated part the actual ashtray clips into because it has been mutilated with a starter button it seems, and my actual tray part seems to be sagging when clipped in, so I thought might as well get the whole shebang.

just a note on the ashtray. There is a plug unless you have the light package, then you get the additional actual lighter which is not the fancy one in the exposed dash. The three items all have the serrated fronts, headlight, wiper & cigarette lighter

Sounds like he needs both the Dash lighter assembly for a 70 rally dash. And the complete ash tray with ash tray to Dash receiver and with the lighter assembly. I may have them if others fall through. Nice 70 dash lighters are hard to find and not cheap . I have a couple in this container of what you may be looking for the dash. I may also have some in dashes I didn't look. I was digging out brake backing plates.

What is included in the light package?

Just to clarify, what I need the most is a rally dash lighter assembly, I need everything to install it into my new bezel to the right of the radio. I actually do have a correct lighter already, but I didnt think that anyone would want to sell just the socket/mounting assembly, so I just said I need the whole thing to make it easier. Any instructions on how to mount it in the dash would be helpful too, but it may be pretty straightforward.
I also want to make my ash tray nice again, it doesnt have a lighter just a plug where it should be, and it has a push switch next to it which Im positive is NOT factory :) The tray sags a little bit too, and bending the tab doesnt help, so I thought maybe I would be able to get a complete ashtray. Or maybe they all sag a little and Im throwing my money away to try to get one to fit nice and tight?? If I install a lighter into the new bezel, do I really need a lighter in the ashtray as well? I doubt it, but I dont want a hole where a lighter should go. Heres a couple of pics of what I have right now:

can you post a picture of where in the dash you think a lighter would be mounted?

If you look into the ashtray while you open and close it , looking at the tab that you push to remove the ashtray, you will see how the two white nylon buttons and the tab are the spring that holds the ashtray up in place when either open or closed. That tab is part of the actual ashtray. Remove the ashtray from the receiver. By bending the tab up (as in 'up' when the ashtray is in the car mounted in the car) you can increase the spring pressure and let the ashtray properly close tight. Yes you would be wasting your money buying a different 54 year old assembly. If someone actually used your ashtray, opening and closing and pushing the tab down to empty the ashtray would bend the tab down over time. Even if it belong to a non-smoker they all use it to hold change and small stuff they didn't want to lose. Even sitting closed the "spring" is under tension and eventually relaxes a bit. 5 minutes and you are back in business.

according to the factory sales brochure the "light group" package includes (and I quote):
fender mounted turn signals (N/A Swinger 340)
Head-lamp-on reminder buzzer
Glove box light
light: ashtray
Map and courtesy light
Trunk light
Ignition with time delay

to explain:
the Map and courtesy light was under the dash way over on the passenger side - you wouldn't want the driver to be reading a map while driving in the dark! The courtesy part was that the same light would come on when you opened the passenger door to make it easier for them to see getting in. The switch for the map light was to the left of the steering column so that the driver had control of turning it on or off while driving. If you want pictures, just ask.

The ignition time delay was a little light behind the ignition key bezel. It came one when you opened the drivers door so you could more easily get the key in the ignition. The delay part is that it would shut off after so many seconds so it wouldn't reflect on the windshield while driving in the dark

Head lamp on reminder buzzer would come on if you shut off the ignition with the headlight turned on.

The one that really confuses me is that you couldn't get fender turn indicators on a 340 car. All I can figure is that you wouldn't have been able to easily see the right side one over or around the scoop on that side.

@str12-340 The dash lighter was available in 1970, it was to the right of the radio. Here is a pic of a dash with it, radio delete though, and a pic of the dash frame with the factory hole to allow mounting of the lighter.

Thanks for the pictures - you definitely need a nice cigar lighter (the part that pops in and out) with the knob that matches the others. Is that a Map Light or a Rear Air switch directly below the headlight switch? They were both there side by side and I can't read it.

Not a problem. Im not sure what that is, that is not my dash, its another members whos using it in a Demon I believe if I remember correctly, we had talked about trading bezels because he needs a 71+ dash(which I have right now) and I need the 70 which is in the pic, but my dash will be basically identical only with the correct thumbroller radio.
