My Demon has not gotten much love in the past year, as it has served as a back up car for that dam Duster. Since the MATS last year I have had a sever tire shake problem that we finally figured out at the PSCA race in November. Bought a new set of Hoosier's 10 x 29 last May, have balanced the tires 3 times..bubble balance with the last time at the PSCA race by the M/T guys. Finally we swapped out the tires from the 71 Duster and all the tire shake went away.

So thinking the tires were correctly balanced s, Saturday TNT the car shook going down the track had to ease out the throttle ran 11.01 @ 100. So I had a set of old M/T 9 x 28 that I ran on the 73 Duster last year, and the 71 Duster the year before. Decided to put them on for Sunday's race. Ran 10.74 and 10.75 in the two time trials just over 121 mph.
1st round of elimination I got a new supercharged Mustang Cobra, the Mustang red lighted and I ran the Demon all out, rang up a new PB at 10.666 @ 122.41 on a 10.75 Dial in..Round two dialed 10.68 since it was warming up...Ran a 10.683 ...but then in 3rd round my somewhat late light 10.69 on the 10.68 dial was a loser.

One thing I noticed with the shorter diameter tire the 360 was cranking a few hundred more rpm's going thru the tracks. I always figured these cars needed more gearing.

Had a 1.420 60 ft...

Previous Best was at sea level in Sacramento several years ago 10.72

Congratulations,Tony....
Sometimes back to basics,simply solves issues....what track,Vegas?....

so now you have a new set of slicks for sale I take it! :) Always ran Phoenix until the MT trailer showed up at MaTS two years ago, so I've been buying from them since. They seem to support the west quite well so that's where my money goes.

Always ran MT...but their 10 x 29.5 is 29.9 tall and gets really close to the front lip on the fender...where the Hoosiers 10 x 29 are 29.2 tall...so the Hoosiers fit the cars better.

Going to order a Dana 60 from Doctor Diff ...free shipping sale is over on the 31th.

I had a good night....time trials....10.82 @ 122....and 10..79 @ 124...dont know where that came from considering the burnout I did with no water in the burnout box..

round 1.. get a olds 442 dial 10.55... me dialed 10.75... me .013 on the light..she -.015 red....me run it out 10.80

round 2 ..mustang dial 11.55...me dialed 10.79.....She has a .775 reaction time...fact I am confused because I expected her to be gone..I cut a .225 light...Well..it is better then hers...I blow by her really fast...picked her up in the rear view mirror...out of gas at 1000 just to get down track time...and then on brakes..

round 3 gray primered camaro ...he is dialed 11.56...me still at 10.79 as the 1000 ft clock from last run shows i was there...He leaves 1st....and I red light with a -040 light...and his reaction time was a .356....and to make it worst..the demon runs a 10.796 on the 10.79.....

my reaction times with the demon have been all over the place...so after the 1st time trial of .167...i look at my adjustable button...it is at maximum length...so shorten the throw...2nd time trial....060...ok..we are moving the right direction...and 1st round I had shorten it a little more...and .013...

Amazing the little things you overlook
