'71 Dart GT back glass glued in?

I'm having the the rear glass' gasket (as well as a new front windshield and gasket) replaced by a local shop. The shop's owner quoted me a price but said it may be slightly more if the back glass is glued in. I thought the gasket was the only thing holding the back glass in. Were they ever glued in?

I did auto glass for a living. Sometimes we would glue the gaskets. Usually when the customer was to cheep to pay for the rust repair in the pinch weld or even if we just had a hard time getting the gasket to seal...

So yes, it is done.
Not saying it's right just that it is done....
