71 demon starting problems

it sounds like it starts for a split second(more like it's taking a big gasp of air), i taught it was the leaking fuel pump but its not, im checking spark know but what can it be? has anything similar happened to any of you? im not sure what else to do.

check your fuel settings - needles and seats, pressure after the pump. Also, make sure your idle mixture screws and idle speed are good. You don't want too much of the transfer slot open.

Then check spark. After that check timing.

Also: do you have a clear fuel filter? Can you see what's happening with it?
