Well after helping my brother last year build his 71 duster using parts from our old car we drove in High School I got the bug to do one up and I recently purchase my own 71 Duster, original 318 ps/air 8 3/4 car with front disc brakes, Air still works!, The body is in great shape almost no cancer on it!, pretty straight although upon further investigating it has been in a few accidents, My plans are to get the body painted (electric blue) and then to warm up the 318 for this year's drag racing season, any suggestions on what parts?, and over the next year saving up to and hopefully drop in a 5.7 hemi in it. I am doing all the work in my garage for now.

You should be embarassed at how solid that car is. It just ain't right.

Get a good center section built for the 8-3/4 and you can use it with the next engine too.

Nice find !! If you're really serious about dropping a 5.7 in her, consider a 6.1? I've often fantasized about doing that.. Both modern hemi's are nice, but I've developed a real fondness for the 6.1.. Good luck with your project !!

Sounds like a hell of a project!
I'd like to do that with a 69 Coronet someday, put a modern Hemi into it.
Good luck with it!

Also, nice Neon coupe.
I like those little things.
Never get any respect, but I've always liked em.

Very cool. I think yours may be even more solid than the one I just picked up. Mine has zero rust also but it does have a nice big dent in the driver door and a bunch of dings...

Race ya to the paint booth...

well I decided to go with (p)b5 blue, and I'm going do the black hood and top of fenders.. it's coming along good..I think hanging the hood and trunklid will work out good as I'm spraying in my garage,

Uh oh, looks like you are beating me to the paint already - I'd better get crackin' I was planning on painting mine this past weekend but family obligations and the weather did not cooperate :(

yeah Gary looks like I'm a little ahead of you 8) but here are some more pictures, I am very happy with the body work and the paint looks great for doing it in my garage. The color is electric blue found on the new dodge's. It looks great out in the sun.

Great job man!! What type of paint did you use? Single stage or BC/CC? Looks great.

thanks guys, yeah It has been slow at work so I get to work on the car!, The color is a shade darker then Intense Blue, I am using Martin Senour Bc/cc (which is basically Sherwin Williams relabeled) seeing how the price was right thanks to my Dad who works for them. I don't have the time/money to get into the engine this year so next winter will be the engine side 8)
