Does anyone know if anyone makes a sunoco style hood for a 72 Dart?
Never heard of a hood called that. Maybe you could elaborate?Does anyone know if anyone makes a sunoco style hood for a 72 Dart?
okay, that's what i thought. but not as drastic as that. Its a bubble style hood. Like the nova above.
I guess a company called sunoco used to make them.So that's what people know them as.okay, that's what i thought. but not as drastic as that.
it was a long, long time ago and the guy was calling it a sunoco cowl hood. and i didn't know if that was a localized term or not. his accent and speech pattern also made it difficult to understand just what in the world he was talking about because he and his friend were like in stereo jabbering about a "sun-co bubble" and a "sun-co hood" and "sun-co cowl"
all i could tell is that it was a cowl induction hood that had a smaller, less angular look to it.
It's going on a twin turbo blow through car. I don't want a front facing opening on a 170-180MPH car. My nitrous car has a 6pack scoop on it.So that's what people know them as.Why? When So Many Great looking Authentic Mopar Styles are available?
Years ago when I looked I think it was VFN that offered the SCOOP ONLY and you had to have it graphed onto whatever hood you bought. Even years later, It's extremely unlikely anyone makes the hood from a mold with the scoop for any Mopar. One reason being the response you got in a previous post...Most the Mopar people I know think that a mopar should have some type of OEM scoop. When in reality most of them don't work. It's your car/money ...do with it what yu want and good luck. I like that Sunoco scoop on a few different body styles of different makes. Every once in a while, someone gets my humor !

I personally agree that's much nicer than that "squared up" look on the Nova.Check out the excellent build thread by @SwingerLSX75 who had Glasstek do his hood. Maybe he can chime in to see if he is happy with it now that it has been on there a while. Around post 823 is where the Sunoco style hood gets put on.

I remember when my granpa bought one we told him NOVA stood for . NO VALUE. He called my R/T Rattle TrapI thought that was a Duster !
I will call my friend Eric and ask him about that he will know. He worked at VFN learned how to make fiberglass molds and products. He knows a lot about what other's offered.Years ago when I looked I think it was VFN that offered the SCOOP ONLY and you had to have it graphed onto whatever hood you bought. Yes it’s humorous to me. I have 3 GTXes the 70 is damn close to a cowl hood…. Lol thank you.Try Unlimited fiberglass, in Hesperia, Ca.CA.
If they don't have the hood with that scoop mounted, they will probably have a hood, and certainly will have that scoop.
Any Mopar guys that complain about a cowl scoop, I tell em it's just an oversize 70 rr scoop.
I will check it out. Thank you.I personally agree that's much nicer than that "squared up" look on the Nova.

I think it’ll look good. I need the room for the carb hat. Or I’d run a flat one…..Eric said he did not know. He did say VFN has massive amounts of molds in storage avalibibe, as he has seen it all 1st hand. So good chance they have it.
I personally like the looks of it for a Duster, Dart, Demon. And every one said same when I showed them it on that Nova picture.
That big bump at the front is cool, and makes it look all work no play like all.the posser cowl guys
