Well incase you guys have not already chated with me before or read over any of my previous threads. This thread is about the 1972 plymouth duster I picked up for $500.00 ... And I encourage you to swing over and read through my other threads to get the full story on it and any other threads I may have up. Any how. I am going to be posting pictures as I go along, not sure how quickly I will be getting it done but Ill try and get pictures up as quick as I can for everyone to see.....let me start by saying that in the first few pictures...the body doesnt look bad...couple minor dents thats all.....well after knocking a bunch of bondo out of it ( I knew there was bondo but also knew why it was there so it didnt discourage me from buying it) anyhow...knocked all the bondo out to see someones poor body work....dents from who knows how long ago that didnt get pulled, just mudded over. the next couple pics you will see are of the work I JUST finished doing...knocked all the dents out (the old school way with a slide hammer, no fancy stud gun here) got the body very close to right on.....now I just need to smear a very thing coat of bondo on to give it the smooth look. My goal was to get the globs of bondo out of the car and not go spending a ton of cash on new quarters when the ones on it could be perfectly fine with a little bit of work. more pictures and progress to come guys so stay tuned!!!......NO MORE DENTS:cheers:

since these pictures were taken....I have taken the passenger side quarter panel completley down to metal....found one thin spot where it was just starting to get some rust so I cut it out and welded in new. the door is done and ready for prime, almost finished smoothing off the passenger quarter, wire wheeled the insideds of the fenders and the front framing that the fenders mount to.....under coated the insides of the fenders and the front framing, ran a new bead of sealant of the fender mounting serfaces and reinstalled the fenders. got the fenders almost all sanded down and smoothed off, popped some dents from the drivers side and there is one thing spot where rust started on the lower rear quarter that I am yet to cut out and weld in new. and then it gets a light coat of filler and sanding and its done. I ripped all the interior out, carpet was junk but everything else isl ike new. floors are all like brand new but I am still knocking all the paint off and undercoating before new carpet. dash is coming out so I can paint it to match the body (plum crazy purple) doors and jams and dash and any interior metal will be body color, engine bay is going body color aswell, trunk will get undercoat but I may still paint to body color also. biggest focus is getting the body done and I will worry about and engine set up after ward but the chassis is already done......just body then engine and some odds and ends...but I will be sure to update as i go along!

Hey, thats a real nice project you have going there. Looks solid. Does it have the "twister" package? I noticed the twin scooped hood, I have a petty blue 72 twister with the scooped hood.

No it has the gold duster package. I have been told that the scoops were added at the dealership when new......and it had a stripe kit at one point that I could see hiding under the paint....like the 340 side stripes and the rear tail panel stripe also. I forgor about this thread....I have made alot more progress on the car but have been loading pictures and other info to my other thread....I will try to load all the pictures and info up on this thread later

I tried to e-mail these pictures to you but it failed!!

proDuster I am sending you a pm but I will post here also.....where are located? and what kind of price are we talking for it? I don't have much money to work with but we could possibly work out some trades or trades and cash or cash if its cheap enough.....my tail panel has some rust and the corner was hit once and had poor body work done so I could really use a different tail panel.....please pm me back and let me know what you think, thanks
