just wanting to know if this can be done? i saw on cudagrille.com that they are repo the 72 sharktooth grille. so can this be an easy swap?

Not unless you swap in the 1972 duster hood and fenders, the 72 grille will not fit the opeing in the front of a 1973 duster front end (I think?)?

yea i was looking at that and notice it would need a 70-72 hood? didnt know if fenders were differrent and need to be changed as well.

The fenders are the same you need to swap the hood and possibly the panel below the grill that ties the fenders together.

Piece below the grille, hood, hood latch hardware, metal filler piece between the grille and the radiator cross member. bracket that goes from the lower rad cross member to the fillerpiece, bumper and brackets, headlight wiring harness and tabs would have to be welded on he fenders to attach to the filler piece. So it would required uite a few pieces.

70-72 duster parts only. 69 valiant parts may work as well.

70-72 duster valiant for sure will work. 67-69 some of the pieces may be different, likely the piece below the grille is different.

you can not use dart fenders on plymouth valiant/duster, there different. Also with plymouth 70-76 had all the same front fenders, just different hood and grill mounting hardware

70-76 Duster Valiant fenders are different. 73+ have a different mounting setup in the headlight bucket area, IIRC. Additionally, marker lights differ on the 70-71 and 72+

I was thinking about this. Some of the cars that will have the same basic fenders as a 73 Duster:
72-76 Duster/Valiant
72-76 Scamp

Different markers:
69-71 Duster/Valiant
71 Scamp

Any hood from a 69-72 Duster/Valiant or a 71-72 Scamp would work

If you really want to get technical, some where between 70 and 72 they changed the mounting hole locations for one of the bolts behind the grille.

yes, you are correct, i forgot about the different marker lights

now i dont know if this is true but did a few and i mean very few dusters come with 72 front clips? the reason being is cuz i saw one on ebay and the person saleing it claimed that was its original clip.

Hey Guys just wanted to turn you on to customcargrills.com.Now this isnt going to give you the original grill but check out the cool grill supplies they have so you can build your own.Personally I think the old ones suck anyway and these guys have some cool alternatives...Good luck,Machine head Dan

Sorry Dan but I am going to have to disagree with you on this one. Those mesh inserts would look hideous on an old Musclecar. WAY TOO ricer and/or Mad Max

Also, the 70-72 Scamp fenders and header panel interchanges - even the 4 door ones. I had to do this on a 71 Duster I got several years ago that came with extremely dented and rusty fender and missing grille and header panel. You can usually find the 4 door cars cheap enough

I would very much doubt it, because the '73 had the new government mandated shock absorbing bumper. If Mopar put a '72 nose and bumper on a '73 car it would be violating Federal Motor vehicle safety standards.
