I have a 72 swinger with factory air. The car was a /6 now 340 sb. the compressor is mounted on engine but no hoses are hooked to it or electrical. Is there any hope for the compressor from being open to the elements or is it shot. Is there a way to flush out the compressor to clean it up. Compressor turns and makes pressure when turned by hand. Where is a good place to buy hoses and other ac parts.

I also have a '72 Dart with A/C on a V8. If it turns over, odds are it's ok, unless it's been sitting outside in the weather, uncovered by a hood or anything. Vintage Air is a good resource for A/C parts, as I know they can build custom hard and soft lines to order. They also offer dryers, condensers, etc.

The lines that were on your \6 were different in shape and length. If you are looking for used parts, you may have some luck looking through some of the listings for parts cars on here. Someone may have a set for you from a donor car and even if one or two of the parts needed replaced, that would give you a good start.
