I have a question I plan to restored back to original as possible for 72 340 duster built date 10/71 I wonder if this block show 2/11/72 it does not have vin number stamped it just blank does this block is close enough as original? Front on driver side stamped W 340 L H6 what that mean?

Normally, the block casting date is before the car production date, not after, but yes, it would work for a warranty replacement block, just as intended.

I would think that block would have had a forged crank instead of a cast crank.
But I could be wrong. I was once then we discovered I was mistaken.

I believe you're right.....on both counts. The warranty block would also have a forged crank probably up until about April of 72. After that and for 73, cast.

Ah gotcha yeah it has steel crank and date way before April date.
