727 leaking

I have a 727 with a hughes converter, it leaks quite a bit up front when i hit 3rd gear, have replaced front seal, valvebody, have also had the converter pressure tested by hughes and they said it wasnt the converter. i reinstalled the stock converter and flexplate and it stopped leaking. Any ideas on what can be causing this?

i had a cracked flex plate one time cause all kinds of strange crap (hard to see cracks sometimes)
