All,
I am wrapping up my wiring and my engine is nearly here. I am going with a 1 wire Powermaster 90 Amp Alt, and a Skip White HEI 1 Wire Dizzy. I have removed the voltage regulator, ballast resistor, and orange ecu. I have peeled back the harness and removed the pigtails back to the Bulkhead connectors. The MAD rewire and a Crackedback 8 gage Alt wire direct to the starter relay is in place.
I have 4 wires left over. As both the Alt and 12v in wires have been terminated at the bulkhead in doing the MAD mod. I have attached a jpeg of the current state of the 2 set of Connectors on the Bulkhead to help explain. The actual locations of the wire as is does not jive with the 73 Dart Chassis Manual wiring diagram for some reason but are all undisturbed.
I'm pretty sure the blue and brown get spliced and go to the new Dizzy and the other 2 come from the delete of the ballast/reg/ecu. I'm not sure what to do with these. Also the Blue with white stripe wire expands to a 3 wire arrangement and went to the elec choke, etc. These were all melted for some reason, but when cut back to the joint were the 3 are joined is it fairly decent.
So my questions are:
- Has any other 73 Dart owners noticed the difference in the manual and the actual wiring?
Or am I losing it lol? They are all still on the #2 Connector to the bulkhead but arranged differently.
- What should be done with the purple (violet) and gray wires?
- Do the Brn and Blue w/ White trace splice together to feed the Dizzy?
Any other thoughts and Comments?
