73 swinger, got a used cluster off of a member here, put it in, now no power at all??? hooked everything up like it was before, cluster came off of a 73 Duster, looked identical, checked a few of the but didnt test with an ohmmeter.....any ideas? I'm stumped

The heavy gauge red and black wires that join to the 2 studs on the back of the cluster - they are for the ammeter circuit, and the power for everything in the car goes through them. Did you hook them back up? They are a source of problems for these cars, both at the instrument cluster, in the ammeter, and especially at the bulkhead firewall connector.

Did you do the removal and reinstallation with the battery connected?

I bet you blew a fuse or two.

Ended up being the cluster. Bought a used cluster off of a member here and after a day of troubleshooting and playing with this thing, it ended up being bad, none of the guages worked. The only thing I could get to come on was the e-brake/oil light after taping the alt wires together (alt guage did not work obviously) So I switched my guages out and used the bezel I was sent......
