I have partially restored this 76 Duster with factory A/C and power steering. New suspension, brakes, steering, springs, tires and wheels, sway bar, gages, MSD ignition. My daughter quickly lost interest in learning the in and outs of vintage cars so I'm not comfortable with her taking this one away to school. She needs something later model, and it needs someone who'll enjoy it for what it is.
We painted it ourselves over Christmas break a couple years ago. It looks decent from a distance and gets a lot of nods, but definitely not a show car finish. Being a California car, the body is really solid. Had some minor surface rust at the rear fenders only. Pillars around the glass are excellent. Interior is complete. Originally blue, but some of the plastic has been replaced with black and some has been painted black. I have the original front bench seat but the upholstery is rotten. I did a temporary install on some Toyota buckets that are more comfortable and give better support. The original rear bench is in great condition. I installed a single-DIN stereo and that's the only hacking that's been done to the car. All the trim is there and straight. The front window trim is in the trunk because I cant securely re-install it without removing the window to replace the clips.
The engine is original and I don't think it's ever been torn down. The car runs great but does have a rear main seal leak.
Asking $3200. I hate to let it go, but I can't afford to register and insure a hobby car right now.
