Yes it should work I have a 65 dart gt convert and have the same thing
 
most of the time if you get a rear from same body car. lets say you get a rear from a B-body the chances of it fitting another B-body are very good.
 
it will bolt in as far as spring perches lilning up. i believe it is slightly narrower backplate to backplate than then stock 7.25 for that car which is no big deal. but you will need to shorten your driveshaft.
 
Get the u-bolts and shock plates along with the rear end as they are different also. You'll have to use your old e-brake cables as the '73's are different length. As slantscamp said, you'll have to shorten your driveshaft. Naturally, you'll have to get wheels with the 4 1/2" bolt pattern and the fun of carrying two spares unless you're going to convert the front end too!

I converted the front already!I guess this is a go, doesnt seem like too much ....
 
should bolt right in. need the shock plates and the ubolts and may have to shorten your driveshaft. not 100% sure though
